Lose the factory nose-down stance. Leveling kits installed, aligned and road tested by ASE certified techs who work on Power Stroke, Duramax and Cummins trucks every day.

Lose the Factory Rake

Most pickups leave the factory sitting 1 to 2 inches lower in front than in back. That rake is there so the truck sits level with a heavy load in the bed, but most of the time it just looks nose-down. A leveling kit raises the front to match the rear, makes room for slightly bigger tires and gives your truck a cleaner stance.

Spencer’s Auto & Diesel installs leveling kits on half-ton, three-quarter-ton and one-ton trucks, gas or diesel, at our Ocala shop. Every install finishes with a wheel alignment, because the front-end angles change when the truck goes up. Want new tires and wheels too? Do it all in one visit and we’ll size them to the new height.

Is a Leveling Kit Right for Your Truck?

  • You hate the nose-down lookLeveling the front to match the rear is the cleanest way to fix factory rake.
  • You want bigger tiresLeveling usually makes room for a slightly taller tire without rubbing. Many half-tons fit 33s after leveling.
  • You need a little more clearanceExtra front ground clearance helps on dirt roads, pastures and steep boat ramps.
  • You don’t want a full liftA leveling kit costs far less than a lift kit and keeps your factory springs and shocks.
  • You keep the factory rideSpacer kits keep the ride close to stock. No harsh ride for your daily drive.
  • You tow? Let’s talk firstLeveling removes the built-in rake, so a heavy trailer can make the truck sit nose-high. We’ll talk through your setup before you buy.

Leveling Kit vs. Lift Kit

A leveling kit raises only the front, usually 1 to 2.5 inches, using spacers or torsion keys with your factory suspension. A lift kit raises the whole truck 3 inches or more with new springs, shocks and arms. Lifts cost more and change the ride more; leveling kits get you the stance for a fraction of the work.

Strut & Coil Spacer Kits

Trucks with front coilover struts or coil springs, including most Ford, RAM and newer Chevy and GMC trucks, level with a spacer that sits on top of the strut or spring. Your factory springs and shocks stay in place, so the ride stays close to stock.

Torsion Key Leveling

Chevy and GMC 2500HD and 3500HD trucks and many older GM half-tons use torsion bars up front. These level with forged torsion keys that set the front height. Torsion key kits can firm up the ride a little because they add preload to the bars.

Diesel Truck Leveling

Super Duty Power Stroke, RAM 2500 and 3500 Cummins and Duramax HD trucks carry a heavy engine over the front axle, which makes factory rake easy to spot. Diesels are our specialty, and we already handle their diesel repair, so we know how these front ends are built.

How a Leveling Kit Install Works

Most trucks are in and out the same day. Here’s the order we work in.

  1. Talk through your goalsHow much lift, what tire size and whether you tow. That decides the kit.
  2. Choose the right kitSpacer or torsion key, matched to your truck’s year, model and front suspension.
  3. Install and check clearancesKit installed and torqued to spec, then CV axles, ball joints and brake lines checked.
  4. Align and road testWheel alignment back to spec, headlights re-aimed and a road test before pickup.

Leveling Kit FAQs

A leveling kit raises the front of your truck to match the rear, removing the factory rake that makes most pickups sit nose-down. It also adds a little front ground clearance and room for slightly larger tires.
Most leveling kits raise the front 1 to 2.5 inches, which is enough to level most trucks. The right height depends on how much rake your truck has from the factory, and we’ll measure before recommending a kit.
Not automatically. Under federal law, a manufacturer can’t void your warranty just because you added an aftermarket part. It can deny a specific claim if it shows the part caused the problem. If your truck is still under warranty, check with your dealer, and we’ll walk you through exactly which parts the kit touches.
Yes. Raising the front changes your camber, caster and toe, and skipping the alignment wears tires fast and can make the truck pull. Every leveling kit we install finishes with a wheel alignment.
Spacer kits keep your factory springs and shocks, so most trucks ride close to stock. Torsion key kits on GM heavy-duty trucks can feel a little firmer because they add preload to the torsion bars.
Many leveled half-ton trucks fit a 33 inch tire, and heavy-duty trucks can often go a bit bigger. Fit depends on your wheels, offset and model year, so we check clearance before you buy new tires.
Most leveling kit installs, including the alignment, are finished the same day. Call ahead so we can have the right kit on hand.
